Project Respond collection days are almost here!

Apr 23, 2019

One of the most exciting days of the year for the children God has called us to serve is almost here!  Project Respond is a day churches and believers unite to gather and process vital humanitarian aid to be sent to children in desperate need!  This aid goes to the at-risk Roma (Gypsy) children we minister to at the Point of Hope in Tarnaveni, Romania.

We also take new shoes and socks collected that day to severely impoverished children throughout the Transylvanian Region.  With the help of our October Mission Trip team, these hurting children also get to take part in a Vacation Bible School with a craft, music, and will receive a message of hope and God’s life changing love.

We ask for your prayers to cover this special day, and we also ask you to prayerfully consider volunteering.  Many hands are required to process and prepare all the wonderful donations that will be packed into our 40-foot shipping container headed to Romania.

This year Project Respond collection days are Wednesday, July 24th  from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at our Princeton office at St. Matthews Church and Saturday, July 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the pavilion of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities in Moline.  For questions or to find out how to get involved call Tim Oloffson at (815) 303-1725 or email him at [email protected].

“I came on a shoe ministry mission trip…Many of these Gypsy kids are running around with shoes that don’t have tops or bottoms and flip flops if they’re lucky or even barefoot.  The ground is just riddled with trash, glass, and rocks.  It’s almost impossible to survive without a good pair of shoes…So once a year they get one brand new pair of shoes so that they can actually survive in this town where there are very little paved roads or sidewalks.  It’s a ministry that is desperately needed!” -Mark Trekell
