LEGO Project

Oct 1, 2019

The Point of Hope has received a grant from the Princess Margarita Foundation of Romania that has paid for a portion of an extremely beneficial LEGO Project.  To pay for the remainder, the sweet girls at the Point of Hope are very busy designing, sewing, and hand painting 60 bags to sell.  These beautiful shoulder bags are $20 and would be great for yourself or to give as a gift for a cause.  To purchase a bag now click here.

In a world where technology has become a part of everyday life, transforming our daily activities, we believe that it can change education. Therefore, we have put together a new project that aims to strengthen the connection between education and technology at the Point of Hope.  We want students to develop skills that will help them in the future whether it is entrepreneurship, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, etc.  The LEGO Project is an important step in turning this desire into reality.

The Project objectives are preventing school dropout of the 89 children between the ages 7 and 14 who benefit from the services of the center and developing their computer operating skills.  To accomplish this we need 10 computers with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office.  We also need to purchase LEGO robots-We.Do 2 in order to stimulate children’s creativity and their ability to build workable systems.  LEGO robots-We.Do 2 was created to enhance students’ curiosity and science skills. We know that the future lies in the ability to use and create new technology. Studying robotics at an early age allows students to easily acquire concepts of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and programming. They also get the opportunity to develop logical thinking, the abilities to find new and creative solutions, and problem solving.  To purchase a bag and make this important Project possible click here!
