As we gear up for our upcoming mission trip to Tarneveni, Romania this July, I couldn’t be more excited to share with you the incredible journey we have ahead of us. My name is Tim Oloffson, and as the Executive Director of Another Child Foundation, I am honored to lead this team in what promises to be a life-changing experience for all involved.
Before we set foot in the camp, our team will have the remarkable opportunity to visit the Point of Hope. This school serves as a beacon of light for 150 Roma children every day. We’ll witness firsthand the impact of the daily programs offered here and gain a deeper understanding of why our mission of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so vital.
Additionally, we’ll be conducting home visits to see where these children come from, further emphasizing the importance of our work. It’s crucial for our team to grasp the full picture and comprehend the challenges these children face on a daily basis.
But the heart of our trip lies in our journey to the Harghita Christian camp nestled in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains. Here, we’ll be taking 45 kids from the Point of Hope Development Center for a week-long adventure exploring their faith. This marks Another Child Foundation’s 17th year of organizing a VBS-styled experience with these children, and each year brings new opportunities for
growth and transformation.
As I reflect on the impact of our past trips, I am reminded of the seeds of hope we’ve planted in the lives of these children. Our time at Camp Harghita is not just about activities and games; it’s about instilling a sense of hope and possibility in young hearts, seeds that will undoubtedly bear fruit in the Roma community for years to come.
I am immensely grateful for the privilege we have to minister to these at-risk children in such a serene and peaceful setting. Together, surrounded by the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains, we’ll embark on a journey of faith, love, and service that will leave a lasting impression on us all.
