We are excited to announce a wonderful partnership between Another Child and Roma Boots, two Christian organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. The collaboration aims to launch a campaign called ‘Give Poverty the Boot,’ which focuses on providing high-quality rain boots to children in need. Roma Boots, a non-profit organization, has been actively involved in giving back to communities by distributing new pairs of boots to children around the world.
The heart of this partnership lies in the goal of collecting support to distribute 2000 pairs of boots to children in Romania and Guatemala, where Another Child is actively involved in serving. Executive Director Tim Oloffson expresses his enthusiasm, stating, “This is an incredible partnership that will benefit the children we serve tremendously, particularly in Guatemala where these boots will make a significant difference to the children.”
In Guatemala, it is not uncommon for children to face challenging journeys to school, walking over an hour each day. The combination of daily rainfall and dirt roads creates a difficult path for these kids. The ‘Give Poverty the Boot’ campaign recognizes this challenge and seeks to provide not only practical solutions in the form of rain boots but also the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Tim Oloffson emphasizes that the boots are more than just a means of protection; they serve as a tool to share the message of Jesus with these children. “The boots we deliver are simply a tool to share the Gospel of Jesus to these kids,” he affirms.
The campaign is set to kick off on February 14th and will run through June 1st. In addition to fundraising efforts, Another Child will lead three mission trips with a primary focus on delivering these boots to the children. Tim Oloffson invites individuals to participate in these missions, stating, “Being able to wash the feet of children and to place new socks and a new pair of boots onto a child is a tremendous feeling. I believe Jesus showed us this exact example on how to serve when he washed the feet of his disciples on the Thursday before Easter.”
Participating in one of these mission trips not only allows individuals to contribute to a noble cause but also provides an opportunity to serve in the spirit of Jesus. The act of washing feet and providing new boots symbolizes a compassionate and humble service, reflecting the teachings of Christ.
As Another Child and Roma Boots join hands in the ‘Give Poverty the Boot’ campaign, they invite everyone to be part of this transformative initiative that combines practical assistance with the message of hope and love. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and give poverty the boot.
