Help Natasha Overcome Challenges and Attend the Point of Hope Center

Dec 11, 2024

Natasha needs someone to care for her!

“Being able to provide a safe place for children to learn about Jesus is our #1 priority. And attending the Point of Hope School is that place.”-Tim Oloffson

In the dusty, forgotten streets of Tarnaveni, Romania, lived a little girl names Natasha. She was only four years old, yet her small face carried the weariness of a life too heavy for such tender shoulders. Her family, like many others in their impoverished neighborhood, struggled to survive. They lived in a small, crumbling house with walls that barely kept the cold out during the harsh winters. Natasha’s mother, Mara, worked from dawn till dusk, collecting scraps, while her father, Ilie, spent his days searching for work that never seemed to come.

Natasha’s world was small and often lonely. She wandered barefoot through the streets, her clothes ragged, her face streaked with dirt. She watched other children in the village go to school, their bright faces filled with laughter and hope. But Natasha could only dream. Dream of learning to read, to write, to be like them—free from the burden of poverty and despair. She longed for something more, something she couldn’t yet name, but she felt it in her heart.

One day, Natasha overheard her mother speaking to a neighbor. “The Point of Hope,” she said, “it’s a place where children like Natasha can learn about Jesus. They feed them, teach them, and give them hope.” Natasha didn’t fully understand, but she caught the word “hope” and it echoed in her heart like a song. She had heard stories of the Point of Hope Development Center, a Christian school where children were taught the love of Jesus and given a chance at a better life.

But Natasha’s family had no money to send her. Her heart sank as she watched the other children leave for school each day. She wanted to learn about Jesus, to know that love, to be safe and cared for.

For now, Natasha’s world remains unchanged. She plays in the dirt, dreams of the love she’s heard about, and waits for a chance. Perhaps one day, the doors of the Point of Hope will open to her. Perhaps one day, she will know the love and hope she’s dreamed of. Until then, Natasha holds on to that quiet, burning hope in her heart.

How many other children are in the same situation as Natasha? We estimate that over 250 children in this community have the potential to attend the Point of Hope Center. Can you help a child like Natasha with a year-end gift? GIVE A YEAR END GIFT NOW!!

It is the constant and reliable support of the ACF donors that allows children and mission trip participants to experience the love of God in such a powerful way.

I hope this story helps connect you with the work being done through this ministry via your generosity!

Once again, I want to thank you for being the Voice for Voiceless children. I hope you keep investing into their lives as long as you can. You are such a blessing to them.
