12 Days of Stories-Day 2 with Sara Hanzelik

Dec 7, 2023

Our first trip to Romania was full of lots of precious moments. The four of us connected well with the kids at the Point of Hope. Leaving was the hardest part of our trip because we were leaving people that now felt like family. Our drive to the airport was filled with tears, the recounting of stories, and jokes about coming back in a few months. We had no idea that our jokes would become a reality. Just one week after returning home, we bought our tickets to go back. One of the factors in our decision to go back to Romania was the deeper connections we made with some of the kids. At camp this summer, we were able to see the kids really start to show interest in the Bible and God. We wanted to continue to invest in those already established relationships, and encourage the kids in their faith. These kids have become very precious to us, and we cannot wait to see how the Lord continues to work in their lives. They have not only become a part of our family, but we hope that they can be a part of God’s family as well.
