We are excited to share some wonderful news about our upcoming September mission trip to Tactic, Guatemala! This year, we have a team of eight amazing people who are ready to serve and make a difference in the lives of children and families in this beautiful community.
During our time in Tactic, our team will be doing several important activities. One of the main things we will do is home visits suggested by local church leaders. These visits are important because they allow our team to connect directly with families in the community. Many of these families face various challenges, such as health issues, financial struggles, family problems, or spiritual needs.
By visiting their homes, we can listen to their stories, understand their situations better, and offer support and encouragement. These visits are not just about providing help; they are also about building relationships. We want the families to feel loved and valued, knowing that they are not alone in their struggles. Our team will share the Gospel and offer prayers, bringing hope and comfort to those who may be feeling overwhelmed.
In addition to home visits, we will also be working on a special project to enhance a local school. This work project could involve building a new playground for the children to enjoy or even rebuilding the foundation of the school to ensure it is safe and sturdy. These improvements will create a better learning environment for the students and show the community that we care about their future.
Another exciting part of our trip is the three-day Vacation Bible School (VBS) we will be hosting for the children. VBS is a fun and engaging way for kids to learn about the love of Jesus. We will have games, crafts, songs, and Bible stories that will help the children grow in their faith. We can’t wait to see their smiles and share the joy of the Gospel with them!
To truly understand and appreciate the culture of Guatemala, our team will also participate in various cultural activities. We will learn about the rich history and traditions of the Mayan people, who have a significant influence on the culture in Tactic. These experiences will help us connect with the community on a deeper level and show respect for their way of life.
