Another Child Foundation is thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with Lee University and Professor Alex Sandoval for a 10-day mission trip to Guatemala this summer! The team will be heading out on June 2 and returning on June 12. This trip will allow students from Lee University’s Global Perspectives program to experience life in Guatemala and serve the local community in Tactic.
Professor Sandoval, who was born and raised in Guatemala, is especially excited to lead this team of 10 students and his daughter on this special mission. Lee University’s Global Perspectives program encourages all students to participate in a cross-cultural experience as part of their graduation requirements. This trip will not only fulfill that requirement but will also give students an opportunity to see how faith and daily life come together in a different part of the world.
During their time in Guatemala, the team will be involved in a variety of exciting activities to help them better understand the lives of Christians in Guatemala and the challenges they face. One of the highlights will be leading a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for 60 children who attend a Christian school. This VBS will offer a chance for the team to share the love of God through stories, songs, and activities.
In addition to the VBS, the team will visit families in the community who are facing tough life challenges. Home visits will allow them to offer support, prayer, and encouragement. These visits will also give the team a deeper understanding of the struggles many families face in Guatemala.
A special part of the trip will include a visit to the Vida Infant Home, which is partially sponsored by Another Child Foundation. The team will assist the nannies in the home with household tasks and, most importantly, spend time playing with the toddlers who live there. The joy and love shared with these children will be a memory the team will carry with them for years to come.
