A Joyful Start: Promise of Hope Day Celebrates the 2026–2027 School Year

Sep 17, 2026

This September, as Point of Hope kicked off its 20th year of ministry, we transformed the traditional first day of classes into an unforgettable celebration we’re calling Promise of Hope Day. To ensure every age group could fully enjoy the festivities, we hosted two special sessions—one for our kindergarteners and middle schoolers, and another for our elementary students. The atmosphere was incredibly vibrant, filled with colorful balloons, lively music, dancing, and face painting. It was a blessing to watch any initial first-day jitters quickly melt away, replaced by smiles, laughter, and pure joy as the children played and reconnected with their friends. To top it all off, the kids were treated to a fun party meal of hot dogs, ice cream, and juice!

Our intention for Promise of Hope Day was to make the return to school much more than just a formal ceremony. We wanted to create an experience entirely dedicated to childhood, friendship, and community. It is so important to us that these children know school is not only about learning and responsibility, but also a safe place of creativity, generosity, and a strong sense of belonging.

Beyond the fun and games, Promise of Hope Day was about providing concrete, meaningful support to our community. Before heading home, every single child received a brand-new backpack fully stocked with all the school supplies they will need, along with a special package of food for their families. This day embodied our promise: to reach children with compassion, to teach them with love and truth, and to transform their lives through the hope of Jesus Christ.

To our amazing sponsors: none of this would have been possible without you. Your unwavering support provided the meals, the backpacks, the supplies, and the groceries. More importantly, your generosity has made the continuation of the ministry here at Point of Hope possible for yet another school year. Because of your faithful partnership, these children are stepping confidently into a blessed year of learning, knowing they are deeply cared for by a community that extends far beyond their classrooms.

Thank you for making Promise of Hope Day a reality, and for walking alongside us as we guide these children toward a bright and successful future. The promise continues.
