Director of Missions

Reports To: CEO

Position Overview:

The Director of the Living Water Mission Network will lead and manage all aspects of the mission network, focusing on building and nurturing church partnerships, coordinating humanitarian aid efforts, and overseeing mission trip logistics. This role is pivotal in expanding the network’s reach and impact, ensuring that the mission aligns with the core values of Another Child. The Director will also work closely with international partners to meet their needs and expand mission outreach to various parts of the world.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Church Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing church partners while actively seeking new partnerships in Eastern Tennessee and other parts of the country.
  • Facilitate regular communication and engagement with church leaders to
    promote collaboration and support for mission initiatives.
  • Help church partners enhance their mission efforts, ensuring they are equipped to do missions better.

2) Humanitarian Aid Coordination:

  • Oversee the collection and distribution of humanitarian aid, ensuring alignment with mission trip schedules and community needs.
  • Collaborate with church partners to organize and promote humanitarian aid drives that complement mission trips.
  • Seek out local outreach opportunities to further engage church partners in their communities.

3) Mission Trip Management:

  • Lead the effort in planning, coordinating, and executing mission trips in conjunction with the Mission Trip Coordinator, ensuring a collaborative approach.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Mission Trip Coordinator and other leadership to create an annual mission trip schedule that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Continuously improve the mission trip experience in collaboration with the Mission Trip Coordinator.

4) International Partnerships:

  • Engage with international partners to assess their needs and develop strategies for expanding mission outreach globally.
  • Foster relationships with organizations and communities abroad to enhance the impact of the Living Water Mission Network.

5) Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement an annual strategic plan for the Living Water Mission Network, including measurable goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mission initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to enhance impact.

6) Team Leadership:

  • Supervise the Mission Trip Coordinator and any volunteers involved in mission
    activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional development and growth.

7) Fundraising and Resource Development:

  • Support the organization’s fundraising efforts by plugging church partners and individuals into the current fundraising funnel, including supporting appeals and promoting the Kingdom Seekers (monthly giving) program.
  • Maintain an open eye for potential major donors, connecting these individuals with the CEO to foster relationships and secure funding.
  • Organize at least one annual Reach Event to engage stakeholders in the area, sharing the mission and inspiring financial involvement in the Living Water Mission Network.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus, but not required (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Theology, International Development).
  • Proven experience in mission trip planning, church relations, or humanitarian aid coordination.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for building relationships.
  • A deep commitment to the mission of Another Child and a heart for serving vulnerable populations.

Working Conditions:

This position may require travel for mission trips and church visits. Flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events and trips.
