Mission Team UPDATE!

Oct 25, 2017

I just wanted to quickly share a few of the wonderful things tat the Project Respond mission team from the US has accomplished in the first half of their trip to the Point of Hope Development Center i Tarneveni, Romania.

The first day of ministry started with the team attending a Sunday worship at a local Baptist Church. The team enjoyed having the message translated to them as Pastor Marius spoke. The team also recognized and sang with the praise team (from their seats) a couple of the songs that the congregation sang. The team finished the evening by hosting 47 people (18 families) from the ARC program. The ARC program is a relatively new program supported by another US agency that helps get struggling families back onto their feet by providing food and social support. The team played with the children and distributed new pairs of shoes and socks to each child. The other half of the team shared devotional time with the parents where a discussion of why bad things happen to good people was discussed. The team also shared personal testimonies of how they have survived fro bad times in their lives. It was a powerful experience to see these struggling people see that there is hope if we have trust in God.

The next 2 days the team presented a VBS for the preschool children ad after-school children at the Point of Hope Development Center. The team has been overwhelmed on how polite ad well behaved these children are. The credit for this goes to the daily dedication of the staff at the school. Credit alo has to go to the parents of these children who sed their kids to the Point of Hope o a regular basis.

The final thing the team got to do was to visit the homes of some of the children who attend the school. This is always a eye-opening time for the team. When the team sees from where these children have to live they appreciate the incredible work that God is doing through this ministry. To see the possibility of kids not just surviving these conditions but thriving is always exciting to see.

Keep the team in your prayers as they still have a couple more days of ministry in front of them. We have one team members struggling with a nasty sinus infection and another with a sore hip. Thanks to all of you back home for the prayers you have lifted for this team. They are working! God is good all the time!
