John Reeve’s Guatemala experience

Sep 30, 2024

Our recent mission trip to Guatemala was a truly transformative experience for our multi-generational team. Guatemala, a vibrant and multicultural country rich in both beauty and diversity, welcomed us with open arms. Our primary goal was to share the living water of Jesus Christ with the communities we visited, while also addressing practical needs by providing clean water filters to families in need.

Partnering with **Mercy Waters Ministry**, we were able to distribute life-saving water filters to several families who lacked access to clean drinking water. In a country where many people still rely on unsafe water sources, these filters are more than a gift—they are a lifeline. Along with each filter, we shared the message of the living water found in Jesus, offering not only physical health but also spiritual hope. It was incredibly moving to witness people’s gratitude, both for the clean water and for the Good News we came to share. Our team worked hand in hand, from the youngest to the oldest, learning from one another and growing together in faith and love.

In addition to our partnership with Mercy Waters, we also had the privilege of working alongside **Impact Ministries**, an organization dedicated to transforming lives in Guatemala through education, discipleship, and community outreach. We participated in various activities, from teaching Bible lessons and enjoying recreation and crafts with the student of the Vida Schools that Impact Ministries supports. One highlight was our visit to schools, where we had the chance to connect with the students, encourage them in their faith, and see firsthand how Impact Ministries is raising up the next generation of Guatemalan leaders.

Another exciting aspect of our trip was our collaboration with **Roma Boots**, a company that provides rain boots to children in need. Many children in rural Guatemala walk long distances to school, often in the rain, without adequate footwear. Thanks to Roma Boots, we were able to distribute rain boots to hundreds of children, ensuring they can walk to school and play safely, no matter the weather. Seeing their smiles as they received their boots was unforgettable.

Throughout the trip, our team experienced the deep joy of serving together across generations, united in purpose. We are incredibly thankful for Another Child Foundation’s partnerships with Mercy Waters, Impact Ministries, and Roma Boots, and we look forward to continuing this vital work in the future, bringing both physical and spiritual nourishment to the people of Guatemala.
