“I just want to make a difference in a new way.” That was a quote I heard from a new child sponsor last week. This young lady had seen a post on our Facebook page asking for a generous person to say “yes” to one of our children needing a sponsor for the upcoming school year. After sharing her excitement about being part of our sponsorship program those words finally just came out!
“I just want to make a difference in a new way.”
We see this a lot from people who are looking for something to feel like they are making a difference in this world and God uses the smile of a child to do this. Our God is SO GOOD! A simple smile on the face of a child who needs to be chosen is powerful. God once again used this child to change the world for the better.
When we speak to larger audiences we ask people this question.
How many of you have considered sponsoring a child in the past?
Typically about half of the crowd will raise their hands saying they have considered sponsoring a child. Then we ask them this question.
How many of you currently sponsor a child for an organization like ACF?
Now only about 10% of the people raise their hands. Why is this? We believe that a lack of trust is part of the problem. But many times it is just the fact that people have not been personally asked.
This fall we will be enrolling 12 new students, ages 3 and 4, to our preschool program at the Point of Hope Development Center. With the commitment to care for these children throughout their preschool years comes the need for generous people like yourself to consider being involved.
We need your help! Consider yourself invited to “choose” one of these precious children. We know there is a desire deep in your heart to say “I just want to make a difference.” So pray about this opportunity and see if God is using the smile of a child to move your heart and make HIS world a better place for all of us!
