ACF is pleased to announce that Calvary Church of the Quad Cities will once again be hosting our 2018 Project Respond shoe collection celebration. ACF is very excited to have Calvary on board again this year. They offer a great central location @ 4700 53rd St in Moline as well as a great facility for our annual shoe drive. The shoe collection celebration will be in the Pavilion directly across from the church building. The event starts at 10:00 am and lasts until 6:00 pm.
This year’s event will be expanded with more activities. Moody Radio (WDLM 89.3 FM) will be doing a LIVE remote from our event from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm, Food will be served from noon until 2:00. A special time of prayer and dedication will occur at 5:00 pm as the drive starts to come to a conclusion.
Volunteers are needed to help us ‘process’ shoes. The processing of shoes includes cutting all the tags off of the shoes, taking and stuffing out of the shoe, rubberbanding the shoes together. The shoes also need to be sorted into boy and girls and then sorted again for size. Finally, the shoes are counted and packed into boxes and loaded onto a truck. It is a lot of work and many hands makes for light work.
It is always a blessing to see so many people get involved in this tremendously impactful part of our ministry.
