For Aurora, Point of Hope (POH) is more than just a school—it is a place of transformation for her children and her family. As a mother of three—Liviu (14), Melissa (12), and Maria (10)—she has witnessed firsthand the difference POH makes in the lives of students.
Her children have been enrolled at POH since they were just six or seven years old. Over the years, she has seen their growth, not just academically but spiritually and emotionally. “Melissa started reading here,” Aurora shares. “The teachers help them with homework. They talk about POH all the time and say beautiful things about the activities. They are so thankful for this place.”
Education is just one piece of the puzzle. For Aurora, faith is a vital part of her family’s life. She and her husband share their faith at home, and their daughter Maria recently took a significant step in her spiritual journey by being baptized in their church. The values taught at
POH reinforce the faith they are instilling in their children, giving them a strong foundation for the future.
But POH’s impact doesn’t stop with her own family. Aurora was so moved by the program that she encouraged her cousin to send her daughters as well. “I tell others about Point of Hope because I see what it has done for my kids. It helps them learn so much and gives them
opportunities for the future.”
Like any mother, Aurora dreams of a bright future for her children. Liviu is already thinking ahead and hopes to pursue a career in mechanics, while Melissa and Maria are still exploring their paths. But no matter what they choose, she knows that their time at POH has set them up
for success.
She often wonders what life would be like if her children had never been part of POH. “I don’t know exactly what would have happened,” she admits, “but I know they have learned so much here, and the teachers truly care. I am so thankful.”
Aurora’s favorite time of year at POH is the Christmas program—a time of celebration, reflection, and joy. She also cherishes the special moments when parents get involved, like a healthy cooking program where families learned to prepare nutritious meals together.
When she first heard about POH, it was from other families in the community. “Everyone was talking about it,” she remembers. “I knew I wanted my children to be part of it.” Today, she feels nothing but gratitude for that decision.
Aurora’s story is a testament to the power of Point of Hope—not just for the students who attend, but for their families and communities as well.
